JIH slams KCR on muslim quota

Jamat- e- Islami Hind state president Hamid Mohammed Khan on Saturday alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekher Rao is just passingtime and dragging the issue of implementation of 12 percent reservations to Muslim Minorities.

He said there was no use of G. Sudheer committee appointed to study social economic conditions of Muslims in Telangana as it was not a statutory body and will be no sanctity to its report unlike BC Commission.

Speaking to media persons here in Adilabad, along with state general secretary M. N Baig Jaheed, Hamid Mohammed Khan recalled that 12 percent reservations to Muslim minorities was not the Muslims’ demand but it was the promise made by Chadrasekhar Rao during Telangana agitation and also incorporated it in the party election manifesto and now it is his duty to fulfill his promise without dragging the issue to the courts.

Mohammed Khan observed that the Muslim youth are losing their 12 percent reservation benefit in the recruitment of jobs by the state government.

He opined that it was better to implement 10 percent reservations as advised by the statutory bodies such as Sacchaar and Rangannath Misra committees others wise situation will arise where the Muslims will lose 4 percent reservations which they are enjoying now.

Mohammed Khan said the state government has failed to create confidence among the farmers in order to prevent them from committing suicides and demanded the state government to give interest fee loans to the farmers to empower them and banning liquor in all forms in the state to make the state liquor free Telangana and then only it will be golden Telangana.

He said only Rs 200 crore out of Rs 1,034 crore budget have been spent so far as there was no sufficient staff in the Minority welfare department to implement schemes for the welfare of the Muslim minorities and demanded the state government to recruit 300 staff in the department.

He further demanded that state government make Wakf Board as Corporation and give judiciary powers to it.
