Gamblers flock Maha clubs

With the government forcing the closure of clubs which were popular for gambling-three cards and Rummy- in and around the Hyderabad, large numbers of enthusiastic people including women interested in gambling are coming to a club set at Nayegoan village in Dharmabad taluq in Maharashtra. 

A number of cars including luxury vehicles, head for the village which is located just half a kilometre from temple town Basar in Adilabad of Telangana.
People from well-to-do families from Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Medak and Rangareddy and Hyderabad go to the club for a game or two. 

It is said that even people from Mahrashtra head for the club. It is said that club offers luxury facilities, and new customers are joining in with word of mouth publicity incidentally, some of the people who go to the club to gamble also visit the Saraswati temple at Basar. It is said that Telugu businessmen set up the club on benami names in Maharashtra.  

Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao had taken serious note of the death of a person felling down from a top of the club in the Hyderabad and closed all ambling clubs. It is said that token value of Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000 each are being sold for the gamblers.

Ragging: Rural students worst affected

The ragging incidents in the colleges have turned nightmare for the students from rural areas as they could not withstand the ‘pressure’ mounts by their seniors unlike urban based students and resorting to extreme steps in Telangana.
Rural Students studying in colleges in cities were facing the ragging more these days.

Rural background students face difficult to adjust to the new environment when they entered in the engineering colleges have different environment in cities like Hyderabad. Parents are thinking twice to send their children for colleges especially engineering.

Educational experts say that lack of monitoring on the activities of the students was resulting in the incidents of ragging most of the times and failure of the college managements in taking stringent action against the culprits who involved in ragging with the feeling that this would affect the image of the college.            

Recently, ragging incident took place in Singareni polytechnic college in Mancherial in first week of August and 10 students who were involved in ragging have been suspended for 10 days from the college and hostel.

Ragging incident that took place in Polytechnic College in CCC Naspur in Mancherial came to light after 15 days the incident took place with the victim lodging a police complaint against his seniors who ragged and attacked him for not following their instructions. The college is being run under the management of the Singareni.

The college management suspended the seven senior students who allegedly involved in the ragging. The victim student was native of Godavarikhani in Karimnagar district. 

Recently, V. Sainath, B tech student studying at engineering college in Hyderabad by jumping before the train in Warangal as he could not withstand the ragging by his seniors . Sainath’s family was settled down in Ramakrishnapur town of Adilabad.

Sainath was known to be sincere and hard working nature youth who completed his SSC in the local private school and moved to Warangal for intermediate and later took the admission in engineering college in Hyderabad.
