Nearly 5,000 liters of pure milk was poured into
river Penganga without break as part of the Palabhihekam to the makeshift
Goddess Durga and Shiva Lingam on the banks of river on the state borders.
Minister for forest environment Jogu Ramanna and Boath MLA Rathod Bapurao and
former Khanapur MLA Suman Rathod participated in the event and dropped the milk
on the idols which flows into river Penganga.
However, the organizers said that the event was conducted
wishing well being of the people of the world (Loka Kalyanam).
The event got mixed responses from the people on
using 5,000 liters of pure milk and pouring into river Penganga as part of
Palabhishekam without using the same for good cause.
Many people opined that it would have been good if
the milk was distributed, after using some of them for Palabhishekam, to the
patients in the hospitals or government hostels and orphan homes to the
students instead dropping into river.
Recently, health minister Laxma Reddy visited the
Adivasi gudems and found that many Adivasis suffering from seasonal disease due
to lacking nutritional food and were anemic.
