ISRO saga inspires students
Replica of PSLV set up on top of a school in Jannaram. |
The success stories of the Indian Space Research Organisation
(Isro) and its successful launching of satellites are not only inspiring the
other countries and top scientists but also students from rural
areas.
Students of Adilabad are inspired by the mission Polar Satellite
Launch Vehicle (PSLV) by the Isro and they came out with their own projects to
develop new technologies at their level.
A big replica of PSLV which was set up on top of a school shows
launching of rockets influenced the students a lot. Students are showing
science and technology getting inspired with the success story of Isro which
has been successfully launching PSLV with indigenous technology. Vasu, a
student of Class V at Krishnaveni Talent School at Jannaram, recently
manufactured an electric motor which operates with the sound of claps and the
project was exhibited at a local science exhibition which attracted many.
Vasu explained about his project which he developed. A motor was
fixed to a small table fan and the motor can be started and stopped with the
sound of claps.
He said that other electronic objects can be made on the same
principle fixing the same motor. He added that he also read about the
eminent scientist Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
School principal Aziz Baig said that they have erected a replica
of PSLV to inspire the students and encouraging them in science and technology
and to come out with their own projects especially during the science
exhibitions. There are many other students who were coming out with their
own projects getting inspired with the Isro projects and were exhibiting them
at district level science exhibitions.
